Bognor to fly a town flag PDF Print E-mail

Proud residents of Bognor Regis could soon be flying the flag for the town.

A request for a town flag to be produced for homeowners and businesses to fly is being considered by councillors.

Former town councillor Ian Harding asked the present members of the town council at their latest meeting to buy some flags.

He said his time on the council saw a flag produced – in yellow and blue with the town crest – but this had been restricted to the seafront flagpole.

“That was never the intention. That was for the people of Bognor who have pride in the town to be able to fly it.

“It would be very appropriate for next year with the Queen’s diamond jubilee and Bognor’s Regis name,” he said.

Cllr Anthony Gardiner agreed the council’s environment and leisure committee should look at the matter and Mr Harding should speak about
