The Kent flag is a very popular and attractive flag. features a white horse 'rampant' on a mauve background. Kent itself is an ancient county and Kindgom, it was almost certainly a kingdom at the time of the Roman invasion and again during the Saxon times. The origin of the white horse is disputed but it almost certainly pre-dates heraldry, it probably dates from the Saxon Kingdom of the 6-8thC. ![]() The Kent Arms which were granted 1933 and are adopted by the County Council show the horse in the centre.
