Rutland is England’s smallest county. It was a traditional county until its county council was abolished in 1974. The entity of Rutland reappeared in 1997 and the authority that controls it uses the traditional county council arms.

although a simplified version of this design is generally available commercially, which is perhaps not quite as attractive.
